If ever there was a people, called from before the foundation of the world; alien from the commonwealth of Israel; strangers from the covenant; destined to be grafted into the “vine” (which is Christ Jesus), and move Israel to jealousy; we, the “body” of Christ, are that “peculiar people.”
[Eph 2:12; Rom 11:17; Jn 15:5; Deu 32:21; 1 Pet 2:9]
If ever there was a place, meant to be a “refuge,” even a hightower from the vicissitudes and storms of life; Jesus is that place. He covers us “beneath the shadow of His wings;” and “quickens” us with His life. Therefore our lives are “hid with Christ in God.”
[Ps 9:9; 57:1; Rom 8:11; Col 3:3]
If ever there was a “witness” to the truth of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus; we are His “witnesses unto the uttermost part of the earth.” For we were crucified and buried with Him, by baptism; and raised, from spiritual death, “that we might walk in the newness of His life.”
[Acts 1:8; Rom 6:4]
ThenSingsMySoul:
MY JESUS I LOVE THEE, I KNOW THOU ART MINE;
FOR THEE ALL THE FOLLIES OF SIN I RESIGN;
MY GRACIOUS REDEEMER, MY SAVIOR ART THOU;
IF EVER I LOVED THEE, MY JESUS, TIS NOW.
