“Salt is good...” and how well do we know it. Some (hypertensive) people can't live with it; while others can't live without it.
On a spiritual level, Jesus said: “If the salt (has) lost it's savour/taste/flavor/strength how shall it be salted (strengthened)?” Then Jesus followed this question with this declaration: “Have salt (strength) in yourselves ...” [Mk 9:50]
This is one of those “be holy, for I am holy” passages; that serves to remind us clearly that WITHOUT HIM WE CAN DO NOTHING. He is the causer; our strength, defender, and shield.
For our strength is “not by (our) might, nor by (our) power, but it is by (His) Spirit,” that “(His) strength is made perfect.”
[Lev 11:44; Jn 15:5b; Eze 36:27; Ps 28:7; Zech 4:6; 2 Cor 12:9]
Jesus assured us that: “Everyone shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt;” as the means whereby we shall be purified/perfected, in Christ; and our “dross” (sins) purged away.
[Mk 9:49; cf. Isa 1:25, Mal 3:3]
As the “tongues of fire,” and “the bride” respond:
LET ME KNOW THE KISSES OF YOUR LIPS, LET ME FEEL YOUR WARM EMBRACE. LET ME SMELL THE FRAGRANCE OF YOUR TOUCH, LET ME SEE YOUR LOVELY FACE; TAKE ME AWAY WITH YOU, EVEN SO, LORD, COME … [Acts 2:3; Rev 22:17]

WON'T HE MAKE YOU CLEAN INSIDE?
